females who have reached or are nearing the “age of maturity”. Also known as “aging out” of the Foster
Care System. By providing a safe, stable, supportive environment and networking with available
resources, promotes a successful transition to permanent and independent living.

    insurance, and on-site clinics


  • Mental Health Services- Referrals for counseling, therapy, or support
    groups


  • Transportation Assistance- Bus passes, ride shares, access to job

In 2024, an estimated 20,000 youth aged out of the foster care system in the
U.S. Approximately 20% of these youth experience homelessness
immediately upon aging out. Many face challenges, including joblessness,
early parenthood, and substance use.

  • Homelessness: Around 20% of youth who age out experience
    homelessness upon leaving the system.
  • Employment: By the age of 21, only 57% of former foster youth report
    being employed.
  • Education: A significant number of youth aging out do not complete high
    school or obtain a GED.
  • Mental Health: Youth who age out of foster care are more likely to
    experience mental health challenges.
  • Early Parenthood: A substantial portion of young women who age out
    become pregnant before age 21.
  • Substance Use: Foster youth are at a higher risk of developing substance
    abuse issues.
